Me and my RecoverTech team all have a background in sport and exercise and share out passion for it. As the founder of RecoverTech, Ihave been involved in a variety of competitive sports my entire life and discovered growing importance of taking care of your body following several injuries. As a junior I was a Tennis regional representative which opened doors for me to gain a tennis scholarship to play at Bluefield College in the USA. Tennis was my passion, both playing and coaching at a high level.
Like many younger athletes and sports players, we brush off the importance of a proper warm up and forget to stretch after trainings or a match. This repeated cycle of pushing my body to its physical limits without the proper care led to a series of injuries that affected my ability to compete. Severe tennis elbow and a lingering quadriceps muscle strain forced me to stop playing for months on end and eventually led me to return to New Zealand. A sense of helplessness overcame me not being able to do what I loved.
At this time, I realised the little accessibility New Zealanders had to effective muscle recovery products other than basic foam rollers. I founded RecoverTech with the aim to provide New Zealanders with the latest fitness recovery technologyproducts to help change people’s lives for the better. Vibration or percussive therapy is revolutionising the industry and is now widely adopted by professional athletes, sports professionals, and people around the world. Vibration therapy can be seen as a reactive solution to muscle pain as well as a proactive one as it is effective in warming up the muscles before exercise, improving range of motion, and ultimately reducing the risk of injury. We should be educating young athletes on how to best approach pre and post exercise routines toavoid injuries to perform at the best possible level.
